Home Care vs. Home Health


Home Care provides:

  • Hourly care up to 24 hours a day, may work along side Home Health or Hospice.

  • Client need not be Homebound.

  • Medicare does not cover Home Care, paid for privately, by Medicaid, or Long Term Care Insurance.

  • Home Care is provided based upon needs of client for an indefinite period of time.
Home Health provides:

  • Home Health provides Skilled Intermittent care.

  • The patient must be homebound.

  • Home Health paid by Medicare if patient qualifies.

  • Home Health is short-term care for a finite period of time bases upon the diagnosis of the patient.

  • Home Health requires a Physician order and a Physician Plan of Care.
